Turns out the so-called “hardware issue” was just a software glitch! Is this the best service an official repair center can offer?
After my phone broke last time, I Googled the issue and found out tons of people have encountered the same problem:
Stuck on the first boot screen, caught in an infinite reboot loop.
Tried unlocking the Bootloader, flashed TWRP, and installed the international version of MIUI from miui.eu.
Got it booted up successfully (and took the chance to root it while I was at it)!!
Finally got rid of all those annoying Xiaomi ads…
