Replacing iPad Touch Screen

This article is currently an experimental machine translation and may contain errors. If anything is unclear, please refer to the original Chinese version. I am continuously working to improve the translation.

I was just turning around to grab something when I accidentally dropped my iPad mini—screen cracked right away.

Apple’s mail-in repair would cost 180 RMB, so I figured, might as well do it myself!

Honestly, fixing an iPad isn’t that hard. A quick trip to Taobao, and I got a replacement touch screen for around 50 RMB, compatible with my model.

Turns out, iPads are basically glued together. So it was all about heat from a hair dryer to soften the adhesive, careful scraping with a knife… Three hours later, mission accomplished!

Good as new. :)

Well, except for the original screen—it didn’t fare so well…
