Turning a Hard Drive into a Network Drive Using a Raspberry Pi

This article is currently an experimental machine translation and may contain errors. If anything is unclear, please refer to the original Chinese version. I am continuously working to improve the translation.

I kept seeing all sorts of network drive enclosures / NAS devices on Taobao,
and couldn’t help but want to buy one just for fun :P

But… no money.

So I had a sudden idea—why not just connect a regular hard drive directly to my Pi?

I set it up using Apache2 as a WebDAV server.
On Windows, I mounted it locally using RaiDrive—turning it into a perfectly usable network drive.

Add a USB hub, and you can attach even more drives—maybe even set up RAID0 someday :)
